ABOUT Suzzanne Lohr, MAOM, L. Ac.

In addition to my private practice, I work with Samaritan Inns’ Intensive Recovery Program providing auricular acupuncture in a group setting to program residents who are in recovery for alcohol and drug addictions. I also volunteer at The Sign of Jonah, a sliding scale community clinic serving those in recovery from alcohol and drug abuse, the formerly homeless, and people who are living with HIV/AIDS.

I am an active member of the Acupuncture Society of Washington, DC. I am currently serving as the Membership Coordinator.

I attended New England School of Acupuncture in Watertown, Massachusetts, graduating in 2005 with a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. While at NESA, I studied Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture, as well as Chinese herbal medicine. My clinical experience while in school was focused on women’s health, working with individuals living with HIV/AIDS at Pathways to Wellness in Boston, MA, working with the underserved at Dimock Community Health in Roxbury, MA and individuals in recovery for alcohol and drug addictions. I am also a graduate of the Virginia School of Massage, 2001, and of the University of Virginia, 2000, with a BA in Psychology.
